Stone Set Pendant and Rings Workshop - Saturday 22nd June 2024

Learn all the traditional silversmithing techniques you need to create your choice of a beautiful pendant or ring with a bezel set cabochon stone!

This workshop is suitable for beginners to jewellery making as it teaches many of the basic skills needed for more advanced skills, however those with previous experience will also find their skills tested and improved by the end of the session. The last 9 photos show student projects, most of them made by complete beginners.

A fantastic range of stones will be available for you to choose from. You're sure to find the colour, size and shape of stone for your perfect project! You are welcome to bring your own stone to work with if you wish, but please contact me before the workshop to check it's suitability.

14 to 16 year olds are welcome but will need to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are included in the workshop fee, but please bring a packed lunch.

Date and Venue

10am-4.30pm Saturday 22nd June 2024 at Fairways House, Mount Pleasant Road, Southampton, Hampshire. Full directions will be emailed.

Materials

Materials are available for purchase on the day and include bezel wire for setting the stone, silver sheets and wire, a sterling silver trace chain for the pendants and, of course, a stone. Silver is costed by weight. Most projects will use between £15 and £20 of silver depending on your design. A great selection of stones from £4 upwards is available for you to choose from.

Tools and Equipment

The workshop fee includes use of all the tools and equipment needed. All workshops include worksheets to take home with you and discuss tools, equipment, materials and health and safety considerations.

Cancellations

Cancellations of workshop places and private tuition bookings within four weeks of the event will forfeit the workshop/private tuition fee unless I am able to find someone to take your place. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
